A dear departed friend used to say that bringing all those people together accelerated the rate in which decisions could be made for one. Instead of sending off email, tracking people down etc all you had to do was chat at PI planning.

(Having never attended PI planning, only done the training) The thought of detailing 6 sprints worth of stories for multiple teams while normalising their velocity makes me shudder. It ranks high in the โ€œnot agileโ€ list of things to do.

Why would they, nothing to sell there. No new practices to teach. Iโ€™m afraid weโ€™re clinging to a movement that has been stolen from us!

Remember a few weeks into my first job someone deleted the โ€œcodeโ€ directory and panicked all morning waiting for the boss to come in hoping that it was backed up. We moved to CVS shortly aftet that.

Since LOVES my summaries of his talks... Automation that aims to replace operators will kill us all. Automation that supports the operators will save us all. The End.
