Maybe. The size of a black hole's event horizon depends on its mass - but the black hole itself may or may not have a size!

You mean the black hole itself? The best description is that it's an infinitely dense point. That's probably wrong, but we don't yet have testable other theories.

Most of the material falling into a black hole does so via an accretion disk - and that of M87 turns out to be nearly face on to us.
