Well you and I think so Steve :-) whereas I’d say this (in embedded tweet) is something that doesn’t happen in normal retail - different people, same “shop”, different prices. The UK monopolies authority was looking at it for online stores, years ago.

This doesn’t explain why one attack gets classified as “hate crime” and another as “terrorism”. If the aim is to terrorise a group, why the difference?

Hmm. How is this any different from supermarkets selling own-brand food and other goods, which compete on the shelves with branded ones? I’d say the thing that needs examination is whether people are charged different prices for the same product based on personal details.

seems tricky to determine whether there’s an ideologue unless the attacker names one. It’s more about purpose, surely: is the intent to terrorise a group? Then it’s terrorism.

Yeah, totally. Also discussions of how much better the camera is probably don’t work that well on a podcast.

What I wondered with this incident was why it’s a “suspected hate crime” when those attacked are Muslims, but it’s “suspected terrorism” if the driver is (suspected of being) Muslim.

Nope. It was us. A handful of ordinary individuals starting out by questioning you and holding you and your ilk to account relentlessly. You offered nothing. You still don’t. Overtime we developed into a grassroots movement of sorts. Then a few MPs came. Eventually
