If anyone is going to Belarus for the first time, I’d suggest staying in Minsk as there’s nothing to do in Borisov. Last season Arsenal laid on free coaches from Minsk to Borisov and back, I’m sure they will do the same again.

Arsenal to play the first leg against BATE in Belarus on February 14. Looking at the temperature in Barysaw on that day earlier this year, there was a maximum temperature of -5 and a low of -11. Tropical!

Some thoughts on yesterday's defeat and the fall-out from it - Including a need for perspective, transfer priorities, why criticism of Koscielny is harsh and Emery's big issue ahead of Spurs.

I just look at what usually happens when he gets involved at clubs, it doesn't usually end well for anyone but himself. So it's a worry for me. But who knows, it might well turn out to be what Reading needs. Something needs to change I guess.

What Kia wants, Kia usually gets. Have to wait and see, but will be surprised if it's a quiet window.

Reading think they will get him (time will tell, they did with Castro as well). Another Kia recommendation. Kia also looking for a new manager for the owners' Chinese team as well. Feet firmly under the carpet.

And I want to trade my two bed terraced gaff into a four bed detached yard. It's not going to happen in a few months though.

It's clear there are issues that need fixing in the squad, you can't do that in a matter of months with only one window. Look at Liverpool under Klopp, even City under Pep. It takes time to build. Yes today was a bad result and an avoidable one, but perspective is needed.

Three points off top four going into Christmas. I think most would have taken that at the start of the season. There are going to be bad days, like today, but some patience is needed during what a fairly hefty rebuilding job for Emery.

Back from St Mary's. Disappointing result, but surprised at some of the reaction to it. Real issues through injury and suspension today. Maybe Emery got his XI wrong (I think he did), but 1 defeat in 23 is very impressive. Maybe such a good run has raised expectation too much.

I asked Unai Emery how important the January transfer window will be to Arsenal given the recent injuries and whether he had be given assurances there was money to spend. Here's what he had to say.

Emery on injuries - doesn't sound great for Bellerin.
