I love when sources get totally off-topic. Guy yesterday mused about Shakespeare's characters: "They’ve got every single stitch of humanity in them. They’re just jumbles of contradictions. I think that's how we all are... every person is a jumble. We’ve got universes inside us."

Milk and cereal, purchased from CVS, preferably during a blizzard, then mixed in your hotel room’s plastic bathroom cup and slurped down without a spoon

Jeez I wish my inconsiderate baby would nap a little longer so I could finish eating this party size bag of m&ms

Just got an email from a vegetarian saying that this story I wrote changed their mind about Indigenous whaling. My work here is done. cc

Bird by Bird is SO GOOD. Made me want to start writing fiction even though my fictional characters always end up about as believable as our current political situation

For reference, this has been a very good year for me as a freelancer, and I've averaged half that, while publishing (I think) more words. I'm no Anne Lamott, but damn. This is a hard industry to be in right now, and it's harder when you look back at what it once was.

I'm reading 's journal of her son's first year. She was a freelancer, frank about her finances: $2,000/month for a book review and $1000 for a food review. This was 1989; in 2018, that's over $6,000/month. If you need me, I'll be weeping into my daughter's bottle.

I'm all about not attacking people for their grammar, but damn it's fun to see a bunch of [sic]s in court documents of racist emails, as if the court is subversively pointing out the author's shitty command of the English language

Oh, yeah. Couples photos are weird. But I’m generally suspicious of couples who have to broadcast their affection over social media anyway

Whether you share on social media is another story. I also have pictures of a head coming out of my vagina and I’m so glad I do because holy crap what a sight
