Best histories/books on the development of specific drugs? You can find the scientific history of a drug relatively easy, but I’m talking about histories from w/in the companies, pivotal board meetings, the decisions that went into bringing the drug forward successfully (or not)

Not specific to a drug but “Genentech: The Beginnings of Biotech” outlines some of those processes and is a fascinating book.

Two great titles come to mind! ”Genentech The Beginnings of Biotech” (Chronicles the development of recombinant insulin) and also “Conscience and Courage” (Recounts the life of Henri Termeer and his pioneering of drug development for rare diseases).
