It's even more sad in our industry because skills come with experience. If you're just here to do what everybody does, you'll just get normal results

"You aren't going to win anyway". So many people are just following the mass. I prefer to vote for what I believe in, and I respect those who do even if they have different ideas. Try to have a thought of your own, thinking is so important

I guess what you mean is that compiler safety comes at the price of compilation time... this sounds logical

It's the year 2020, and we're still finding buffer overflows in programs written in C. Fortunately, those programs are only esoteric, rarely installed programs like... <checks notes> sudo.

Being alone feels great. I know it's sounds scary at first but your mind got through such a transformation when you learn to be alone

Rust compiler performance is hard to have meaningful discussions about because: (1) There’s no single part of the compiler which is slow. In fact the compiler is pretty well optimized.

Newish to parenting reckons.. the lack of diverse gender roles in children's books is really disappointing. Maybe there's more to being a woman than being a princess who needs to be saved?

That might be something for cargo-scout lol I just saw today that git has actually a feature to ignore whitespaces: git diff --ignore-space-at-eol --ignore-space-change --ignore-all-space --ignore-blank-lines (I have not tested but the doc explains what every flag does)

cargo git delete <branch> To delete a branch and its remote/upstream branch in one go.

Another useful thing: cargo git squash This will soft reset your branch to the parent branch. It's like doing a rebase and squashing everything. This is useful when you want to write the proper commit message before merging.
