extortions are increasing but companies are allegedly not paying. Actually, they are but they don't want it known that they paid extortion.

The only way to lift the so called "veil of shame" so people get drug addiction help, is to have anonymous help centres. People often won't go for help b/c they get entered as a druggie in a database.

Our Strike Force & CRU arrested 2 men with gang ties who had a quarter kilo of fentanyl & 300g of cocaine, destined for downtown . They remain in custody & are expected to not have a very Merry Christmas. |

A pusher in New York registered the name "FentMaster" on AlphaBay. Hello. Didn't he think that'd be the first clue for DHS looking for dealers?

Another pusher incarcerated in US, received 289 in drug payments before Coinbase shut him down. When an unemployed guy gets $4,600,000 in Bitcoin from drug sales, you know an exchange's system is not effective.

The worse dealer known so far is Aaron Shamo, a Mormon kid, who sold so much of the drug thru a exchange in Utah, he had over $1M cash stashed in plastic garbage bags in his basement when indicted.

In 2017, (one agency), launched 4,059 financial crime investigations, made 2,049 financial crime arrests & seized $467M in proceeds of crime. Canada - 1/10 the size - as a whole didn't launch 400 money laundering investigations or arrest 200 money launderers. Maybe 4 max.

I sat in a meeting this week where a large impactful global financial institution in China said that China is into digital currencies and is only banning sketchy players or people without stellar reputations. That is true. They are & open for business.

I'm all about laws and policies that are balanced. "New anti-money laundering measures could kill B.C. casino industry: expert". Why don't we use tech to improve ? Like

Canada's BDC spends not much on entrepreneurs as far as I can tell but $647,000 on models and lame stuff that doesn't help any entrepreneur - the price of a house in some towns. Who runs these organizations??

Morneau says he wants to deal with corporate beneficial ownership. Doubtful. He'd have to change the way private corporations are incorporated and who holds corporate records (e.g., lawyers hence its privileged).

Notice Anbang's CEO is still detained somewhere dark in China? Its thanks to Vancouver media, NY Times and Caixin for questioning the breaches of anti-money laundering law in Canada over PEP beneficial ownership disclosures.
