The worst thing about this revelation and others that will no doubt come is it will change nothing. The complaints process will still sit in the hands of a factional body selected by slates. How powerful you are in the party will still influence who your complainant is treated.

Here's the letter. According to those involved, that was it. No investigation. MP later chose not to proceed with complaint. Prescott was readmitted to work two weeks later

Labour's top staff agreed Prescott could pose a risk to young women and the “safest option” was to suspend him as a member, banning him from attending party events. But Karie Murphy said no. “I don’t agree that DP membership should be suspended," she said.

EXCLUSIVE: Corbyn's office blocked bid to suspend his aide David Prescott over sexual misconduct claims from 1993 to 2017. It came after female MP told Corbyn she was harassed + referred claim he was "forceful and aggressive" to two Labour Students who "refused" to sleep with him

This needs to be fully investigated independently. The onus is never on a complainant, especially if the political party then intends to make his/ her name public. This contrasts appallingly with the GMB union action which was in the true traditions of Labour.

Perhaps we should just rename our disciplinary process "mates rates". If you're mates with the leader don't worry you can do what you like. I knew this had happened so it's no surprise. Our complaints process needs completely removing from any factional slates and influence.
