Is that a bike that weighs a ton, has two extra wheels and uses a motor?

I guess human life, increased safety, and clearer roads is not worth the cost.

Apparently they already took out the bike lanes in Lexington. Strange because they really didn't take away that much parking and Mass Ave is excessively wide in that area.

Bike lanes are *good* for emergency vehicle access. (Bus lanes are even better. Let's do more of those too.)

I have seen so many people today straight up ignore the road closures in Somerville. Then while they are being super careful to not scratch their vehicles on the signs, impatient drivers lay on their horns with prejudice.

>We're just stopped for 2 min for a delivery. >What law says you're going to get a ticket for stopping a bike lane for 2 minutes? >Look what you're doing! You're blocking an entire lane of traffic! A "quick 2 min delivery" became 5 min of them yelling at me for blocking traffic🤷‍♀️

I politely asked this to move as he is blocking the bike lane(no parking displayed). He asked "where do you want me to park I have a job to do" I responded that the building he is delivering to has a parking lot in the back for deliveries. "And you want me to walk?"

Further up the above professional's route: nothing has changed.

I did the same here. Pointed out the open parking spots and driveway. The driver acknowledged that it was illegal to park on the sidewalk and bike lane, but did not want to block the driveway or turn around because "this is my parking spot on my route"

It takes 72 hrs to go from one end of Mass to another (North Adams->Provincetown) by public transit. 5 hrs by car. This is a wonderful and ridiculous read. , and all need to actually get serious about funding public transit.

Same truck regularly parks in the bike lane on Longwood Ave (also a delivery). Speaking to the driver yields zero change in behavior. Filing dozens of reports yield zero action from the city. doesn’t care about road safety or congestion 🤷🏼‍♂️

Lol, I once held that view point and tried that. The driver continued their behavior. Approaching them again was responded with aggression. These are professional drivers. Baseline expectation is to follow the law. They don't deserve leniency on that baseline.

Sorry, my mistake, I thought I was the one who asked, but it was really and they responded with "For Officer safety reasons, our officers wear bright colored uniforms and we have deployed our bicycle officers"

I have asked to do this a year ago and they responded that their officers must be clearly marked with 'police high-viz' for saftey reasons...
