Definitely not a requirement.
I use being young as a proxy to having a low opportunity cost and low cost of switching to being in places where you optimize on social capital.

Perhaps accelerators and the new wave of "platform communities" like Startup School and Pioneer are the best way to target the young folks that I think will optimize on social capital by being outside SF.

By digital nomad hubs, I want to refer to places where I think young founders of future global, remote teams might flock to.

Still, I'm waiting for a very loud and proud fund that is all-in on *remote*, ie, no office and actively searching out remote founders systematically.
Something like an indie.vc brand, but instead of focusing on alt financing, focusing on remote.

FWIW, I don't necessarily think that's the best approach, but having a network of scouts in a mix of mid-size cities in the USA + Europe + Latin America might be an interesting way to optimize on the future of (remote-first) founders.

An extreme version of this idea would be to make sure you have scouts in every digital nomad hub.
That might seem silly to most SF investors, given the stereotypical digital nomad.
But less people spending time in digital nomad hubs are of that stereotype.
(Myself included)
