Thinkin about that “STONE” font, which I’ve never seen. It’s interesting how many period fonts DON’T cross over into the future as nostalgia references — only a handful can, I guess.

Reverse-identification tools aren’t liking this one. The results do show that a base font is probably in there. My gut says this is a custom job (a lot logos are too), e.g. it’d be easy for the ABC art dept. to crank that out with 5 letters by adding “bullet holes”.

It's extremely possible — but it feels equally possible to me that it was a Letraset rub-down type that is lost to time! (I used to play with tthose all the time when I was a kid.)

This reminds of the font from the cover of the single for What's The Frequency Kennth with morse, semaphore, and letter frequency popularity. I know it was used elsewhere, but I forget where, and it'd scream 90s to me.

That REM typeface is “FF Identification” from 1993. It comes in a series of weights that you can “stack” to build variations. Very nineties for sure as it’s also used on a lot of Bill Laswell albums of that era and uh… one of my own cover designs.

I had to look at it for a while before it clicked that it's actually just a basic "round" kinda font, but with bullet holes through it?

For what it’s worth, Pat Hingle didn’t cross over into the future, either.
