Don’t use my son’s death, and his and his colleague’s photos - to promote your vile propaganda. Jack stood against everything you stand for - hatred, division, ignorance.

Dearly wish you had not lost your son. Let alone that you’ve had to tweet this. Sending you and your family much love. Your boy seems like a truly wonderful young man ❤️

I'm a Mumof sons, one not far offJack Merritt's age, + my heart goes out to his family. The raw pain must be indescribable. But I have real issues w any grieving family influencing law making or reaction after events such as this. If he'd agreed with Boris I'd feel the same.

I don't think asking that your son's murder not be linked to a story for political gain is in anyway influencing law making or reaction. It is a request for respect.

That's the thing. They're feeding off people's fears to win votes. They're using it as a tool. If you think any meaningful change will come from it, you just need to look at how much the Tories have slashed funding to the justice system. They don't really care. It's to win votes.

Reminds me of that vegan couple whose kid died from a combination of malnutrition & their attempts to treat his flu with honey & almonds. But instead of consider the possibility their beliefs were wrong, they just doubled down on the persecuted underdog vs. big pharma narrative.
