It's amazing how much data processing code goes away when your data is stored appropriately (usually tidy). Often, I can delete half my code once I figure out how I should have reshaped the data. Corollary: when I'm writing a lot of code, I rethink how I've arranged the data.

I am hiring. There are various job requirements and specializations which would be helpful, but the most core and required attribute is a soft skill. Anyone who joins my team needs to be someone who will contribute to a feeling of psychological safety and inclusion in my group.

If you don’t ever need to use it away from the computer there are less expensive options that will do well, too. But the MixPre basically does all audio things well, good pre-amps, local recording, mixing, bi-directional USB interface, and can do all of that at the same time.

TIL: Renaming a file in a Git repo disconnects it from its change history. I didn’t expect that at all, and it feels like lost history. History is all still there, of course, under the old name, but need “—follow” to see it. And how would I know to use that? Software.
