My unseen chronic illness means I spend a lot of time in survival mode. People no doubt assume what they will.

It breaks my heart how many of us are suffering in silence...but we're not alone. You are not lazy, you are not worthless, i know you're listening, i understand depression, i know you're in pain, but I also know all of you are amazing. Please don't forget that!

My unseen chronic illness leaves me with large amounts of fatigue - people assume I'm lazy. What assumptions do people make about you and your unseen illness?

Too many emotions. Too much stimuli. I’m tied.

We never ever have to stop reading YA! We do, at a certain age, have to stop critiquing YA as though it was written specifically for us.

Yes! I used to wear makeup everyday and now when I put on the barest hint of makeup people start making a huge deal about it. Do I look THAT bad? Cuz I kinda miss getting dressed up for work but I don’t miss the discomfort...

Don’t you just hate that?! Lying there, knowing you need to be doing, urging yourself to get up; your body going AWOL...hope it’s in a cool, dry place.

Today I realized that my illnesses take up more bandwidth than I ever realized.

I would like to read something about perfect victim myths within chronic illness. There is a perfect patient narrative about somebody who was athletic and successful and self-actualized but then tragically struck down in their prime despite a lifetime of perfect self-care.

I am so angry today. The level of impairment to my executive functions caused by chronic pain & illnesses is depressing. I’m tired of the daily struggle; the mundane functions of my body I must manually regulate in order to remain alive.

It honestly felt even more insulting that I already had recognized medical problems that doctors ‘cared’ about, but nothing beyond it. And, of course if you have a diagnosis already, no more diagnostic testing is needed, right? (Wrong).
