Just out of curiosity, I was told at 's booth at that they can leverage existing network infrastructures to discover&manage all IoT devices,but I checked the hardwares they might be using, seems hardwares only support wifi, bluetooth and zigbee ?

A good tutorial on why filtering ICMP (type etc..) and scrubbing ICMP and Echo Requests in particular is a good idea. ICMP Ping/Echo Tunneling

The theories are nothing new, we talked about it at car hacking village at DEFCON , it is just the tool ,pretty versatile and convenient though.
