I’m confused by what anyone in SCC is actually to achieving. The whole operation is a debacle.

More of a minefield than a bumpy road. Every obstacle has been laid deliberately by an enemy with only your ruin in mind.

Thoughts ? Surrey CC continues to play its part in the national plan to marginalise our children. Three panels to decide on a school placement that have been riddled with ineptitude and incompetence.

Panel number three! clearly do not know their own transport policy as they try to withold transport to the nearest suitable school for my daughter. The Surrey CC farce continues.

It’s not sadly. Panel approved a school we didn’t want. The battle continues

Can anyone in the community recommend a specialist SEN solicitor, preferably within reach of Surrey?

What’s being done about the caseloads dealt with by caseworkers in the NW SEN team?

We should form a Surrey SEN parents support group. I’m living the same Surrey nightmare, we should compare notes.

Surrey CC admitted, both recent (inconclusive) panels considering my daughter’s next school, were looking at an old EHCP. Roll on panel three where the decision will be made by reading tea leaves and perhaps communicated via smoke signals.

We’ve been down this route with Surrey CC, they (unusually) didn’t object to the additional hours for an LSA to cover this kind of issue.

From a data protection point of view they cannot withhold info about your child. If they refuse you can simply make a Subject Access Request via their Data Protection person and they will have to supply it.

Interesting point. I just had a discussion about quality SEN assurance processes with someone from Surrey CC. Given no formal feedback for parents exists I can’t see how there is any quality assurance worth speaking ok.

Before the team meet with the parents? Cooperating or conspiring, I’m not sure.

Isn’t an EHCP 20+ pages long. How can they hope to do 5-6 a day and understand the children also. That’s nonsense.

I’ve had the LA provide help to my daughter throughout the day, including meals and breaks. It can certainly be done. Needs do not have to be academic in nature.
