Also removing the cross fade doesn't create the anomaly but the edit doesn't sound as good.

If I am trying to cut a word right to Franken-bite an interview then I get "extra" audio from the clip with a cross fade that not there with the same crossfade without FX. So it's like a read ahead issue

It's nice to see so many 10.4 tweets in my feed. People are so happy that FCPX is now on par with every other NLE with color wheels.

Regarding the Audio Essentials effects... I find that they produce odd artifacts if you add crossfades between tracks. Like for voice edits where a short crossfade will soften an edit- Audio will glitch with Essential fx

I don't hate it. Is there going to be some screen glare or some other reference that you are behind the lens or that you are in the TV?

Don't try and finesse every edit/shot as you lay it in. Covering black is the most important thing first. You can go back & make changes to perfect the cut. Just lay shots in even if they aren't the best, just to establish pacing.

I find that the design of the software actually affects organization and neatness of a timeline. Especially when it comes to transitions, VFX, and titles

CC2018 works as well as 2017 for me. I would not upgrade mid project. But my complex 2015 came back with only a few hicipps in dynamic link and Luts. You can install and use 2018 alongside 2017 - select at install
