Mostly thinking about this as an author of Actions. I’d like to lower the barrier for users as much as possible. Doing so would also lower the barrier to entry for beginners to write command actions.

Yep, it does what I want. The challenge I have is that I’d need to set up relatively convoluted YAML (that would work!) to do something that could have first-party support.

Imagine if "cracking down on homelessness" meant "getting people in housing". Wouldn't that be cool?

Threw together a small site for Sponsors of myself to be able to redeem stickers at a minimum sponsor tier. Not a whole lot to see, but it's great not having to manually check a user's sponsorship before mailing out stickers. πŸ’Œ

It is indeed possible but there’s an unnecessarily high amount of work you need to do that could be relatively well managed with first-class support, significantly lowering the barrier to creation and maintenance.

It would genuinely be *so* wonderful to see trop fully implemented as an Action. I can’t imagine the current barriers being removed wouldn’t be a huge win for everyone.

This is really cool! I’d really love to see something more beginner friendly for the use case I’m thinking of, though πŸ˜…

Yep! It’s a lot of boilerplate though. Would be really amazing to move that logic out of execution in addition to standardizing and enhancing a convention that many projects already use in a way that the experience could be enhanced (UI like Slack has for / commands would be 😍)

One thing I've learned to accept is that things like quality have never come from the company as a whole. Almost all the time, the quality you see is down to a small number of humans who gave a shit. And when those people leave, it's over.

they did add a manual trigger which is really helpful for this!

i.e. when there's a comment with "/assign" let me listen for a "command" trigger with the value "assign" and do work at that point.

it would be real nice for automation if there was a / command trigger for GitHub Actions. Would significantly reduce the barrier for so many folks to build cool bots easily.

I have a shitload of favorite remixes and mashups. I can maybe think of two covers.

This is making me realize that covers have seemingly died out in favor of remixes and mashups? I guess maybe I’m just not aware of many/any remixes prior to like 1990 or 2000.
