Today's post is an Arc Review of the new Graphic Novel My Riot. This was such a great read, filled with girl power, as well as dealing with some tough topics. Big thanks to and for letting me get my hands on this one early.

I think to be all three of those things as the start makes them superheros i.e. superman, still good characters but no growth (unless you find a way to take away the power in the story). I prefer reading characters that have the growth arc, to me it's just more interesting.

Sanderson and Kowal's podcast Writing Excuses has great discussions on this. Particularly Sanderson's sliding scales which judges character on likeability, compitence and proactivity. I think good characters have to be a mix and have growth in at least one area.

Mendeley is yes. Though also check with your uni library/it dept they tend to have licenses for students to use.

A reference manager like Mendeley is better at this stuff it. It lets you highlight and take notes and it also has a plug ins for saving pdfs/references online and then a word plug in for when you are writing essays and need to reference.
