Lots of good work going on in the governments, despite major challenges, but I constantly think about the decade (I’m guessing - fix this) you have to commit to in order to really pull stuff off and the emotional toll that takes. Creates a brutal HR attraction/retention dynamic.

Having said that, not here for the “tour of duty” narrative about working in govt. Find it disrespectful of what the institution is. There has to be some better middle ground. It’s that space where critical work of and others comes to mind.

Anyway it’s a circle that always brings me back to org design, HR, public sector unions and the Westminster system popping out from behind a corner every few steps. Huge HR opportunity in govt right now.
