Everyone’s voice is important and we are all saying this to make the game better and safer for the next generation of players. Keep speaking out

Hi. It’s not about the team or the singular incident for me but the theme that it’s been seeping into the game for a decade. My timeline over the years (if you trawl through - good for insomnia) would support that too.

Walts is a top guy, and a really important part of our plans for our Academy. Our Academy has always been important (just look at who’s come through it), but going forward it’s going to be even more important, and it’s a real coup for us having leading it.

Doesn’t matter if he goes no where near his head. He’s wilfully coming off his feet for starters. That’s illegal under law.

They are launching at someone who is in an illegal position. Get rid of jackal and that doesn’t need to happen

If those at the top don’t want to change the laws at breakdown then we are getting closer to two different and complete sets of laws for the pro and amateur/age grade game. It doesn’t make right a simpler game to attract new players and fans but it’s becoming a serious option....

It’s already escalated. Players already getting serious injuries. This isn’t an outlier.

I think if the jackal is taken out (as law does allow) then you are going to kinda get a rucking 2.0 with some the old and some of the newer techniques but all safer and with more players on feet

I agree but I’ve been using examples about this across the teams and countries. I’m not bothered about saying one team should have got this penalty or not - it’s the overarching issue around the breakdown that is front and centre

They are all “illegal” under law but none globally enforced.

Can still do that if immediate. All stuff that will come as a ripple effect more into game of breakdown sorted

Can still have a contest - teams will adapt. Just will mean more players on feet and a safer breakdown but still a competitive one. Yes, ball carrier releasing ball also needs strict enforcing.

Don’t necessarily disagree but if Maro was legal or illegal - that clear out would still have been officiated the same and been allowed in current climate.

Take away any jackles that’s are illegal (which is nearly all of them) and enforce the other laws around that too that would get rid of judo rolls and coming off feet.

Yes, surviving the clear out is a horrible expression. The Jackle starts it all and is illegal under law too....

I think officials are in tough position. Jaco penalises all those off feet clearouts & both sets of coaching staff will say it’s out of sync with what’s being allowed and jaco gets chastised. Im not being contrary on purpose but think Jaco is a fantastic referee. His hands tied.
