I have always been suspicious of . I had hoped against hope that I was wrong. But recent events have shown that I was right. is implacably against the direction in which he is travelling. We shall fight the WA (non-WA!) tooth and nail. Fighting for 🇬🇧

Not a chance. is slip sliding fast. The cynic in me leads me to believe Yellowhammer was deliberately leaked to smooth the path for the Non-withdrawal Agreement (NWA). His meetings with Merkel and Macron put the NWA firmly back on the table. It’s shocking

My thinking: wants nothing more than to be PM. Pursuing no deal is risky as it might result in a GE. Most expedient route = WA minus the Backstop. Deliver Brexit, avoid a GE, come out of it “hero”. Only fly in the ointment = UK sold down the drain

We appear to be inexorably heading for WA minus the backstop (so much for that EU imperative!). This would be the worst outcome possible for the UK. It would render us a vassal state of the EU.

I love it when President Macron tries to talks tough. One half of the Franco/German act. We all know which of the two actually calls the shots. Macron meets Johnson after warning no-deal Brexit will be Britain's fault.

There is not much left to doubt in the way Boris Johnson responded to the 30 day offer by Mrs. Merkel. He jumped at the opportunity. Not wholly inspiring, to put it mildly. PM: Onus of producing backstop solutions 'on us'

I don’t doubt you. I doubt the outcome and . It need not be a monetary wager. How about a five mile walk, by the loser, for charity. All donations raised to be paid to the loser’s choice of charity?

I totally understand the desire to back . I just do not trust him. What wager would you put on your being right?

You’re absolutely right. If had been confident and sincere he would not have sent that beseeching letter putting the UK in the position of a supplicant.

Merkel has given 30 days in which to come up with satisfactory alternative arrangements to the Backstop. And so the stitch up reveals itself a little more.

There are only two possible outcomes from taking no deal off the table: surrender to the EU or give up on our democracy. is trying to sell the UK down the drain.
