Fecal dust storms are everything that is wrong with agriculture in the USA. In the otherwise divided UK, everyone from conservation charities to the National Farmer's Union is united in rejecting moves to lower agricultural standards. It is a fight we can and must win.

As asks: “What would make a person of sound mind dedicate their lives to developing theories on when it is religiously permissible, or obligatory, to go out and kill others?”

Welcome leadership from the aviation industry, which joins farming in committing itself to net zero. There are valid debates over biofuel sustainability & rigour of offsets, but it's good that airlines recognise they must be part of net zero

An unprecedented coalition of organisations representing more than half a million Scottish members is calling for rampantly out of control deer numbers across the Highlands to be reduced. People want nature recovery on a grand scale and it’s coming.

No, I hate HS2. I don’t see the point of it. I have tweeted about this in the past. But mostly I try to stick to things I can practically influence.

Thanks but no thanks 🤷‍♂️ Hormone treated beef is illegal to produce in 🇬🇧 and our consumers don’t want it. This is our chance to construct an environmentally & economically food system - not enter the world’s bargain basement .

in Ireland, the extinction crisis is green: 1) green fields are sterile and simple. each was created through the destruction of a complex wood, bog or meadow that came before. their simplicity is maintained with herbicide and by overloading the soil with nitrates and phosphates

How many times have you been told that Scotland’s Highland glens are meant to look like this👇, treeless, bare and mostly lifeless? This fabled landscape was utterly stripped of its nature not so long ago at all. Time for restoration.

Well that’s half true. Lots of farmers want to support and participate in their restoration to Britain. But quite a few others remain misunderstanding and consequently fearful. Mention the secretive, harmless lynx in Scotland and many fearful rural people go nuts.
