Hi both - can you point to the paper you are talking about? I must have missed it. I know the fabulous stuff on VTE and forward predictions but I have not seen the rapid predictions whilst running or flickering predictions on each cycle or the phase distinctions before. Thanks!

Yes indeed. Wouldn't it be cool if they are related. Joni and Erin are looking at theta interactions between hippoocampus and OFC as we speak!

Sorry - don’t mean to rant or patronise. Just saying don’t change it too much. It is great.

But that isn’t how neuro is taught. I wish it was. In your lectures, the basic concepts are the treasures. Not the stuff from 2015.

I thought “this can’t be science”. Surely there are important concepts to learn first? Surely in science knowledge builds on knowledge?

When you study physical sciences, you don’t get past 1970 at undergrad level. Because there is actual real knowledge that needs to be learnt first. I remember being amazed seeing a paper from *that year* in my first neuro lecture on the intro to neuro in the MSc.

Indeed but what is good about this course is not that it is up to date. What is good about this course is that it teaches rigorous ideas that have been known for decades in a way that is engaging for Psych undergrads.

15 years ago I was told I could never get a job in Psych as I wouldn't be able to teach undergrads. This stuff was for a select few mathmo grad students. It has taken a psychologist (a fantastic one) to prove this wrong but it is nevertheless, in my view, real progress. twitter.com/summerfieldlab…

Hi Chris - It is totally amazing that you are teaching this stuff on the undergrad Psychology course. I never thought I would see the day this would happen. Congrats and thanks. T
