We can confirm that a man who died following an incident in Barrow yesterday has been identified as 70-year-old John MacMillan (pictured). A 28-year-old man remains in custody arrested on suspicion of murder. Details here:

Another unlicenced and uninsured driver dealt with on Ormsgill, after a stop check by the Barrow pro-active team. Vehicle has now been seized and the driver will have a court date in the post.

Hi Jonathan, ensure windows and doors are secure. Put cycles and equipment away in a garden shed and lock it. Some of the reports relate to shed breaks at night / evening but we also have reports of windows being damaged to gain access and steal electrical items
