Earlier this summer I began noting the troublesome spike in atmospheric methane readings from Barrow AK. Someone commented they were likely in error. Nope. These record high readings over 2000 ppb are real and part of a record spike up in Arctic methane levels this year.

You have no idea. We live in an ecosystem that we must work with & look after. We see with climate change the problems of interrupting our ecosystem. Without stewardship & immediate action we will see the ecosystem completely breakdown. That means your living standards drop.

Methane is far more potent over a 20 year time frame It is 86 times more potent than CO2 over a 20 year time frame Given we are talking about short term feedback loops perhaps 20 years is more appropriate From page 714 IPCC report Anthropogenic and natural radiative forcing

Holy crap. Dubbo is not the desert. It’s annual rainfall is about 570mm, which is almost as much as Melbourne. The central west of New South Wales is absolutely PARCHED

Beware of the cornucopians. Sure we have made some progress over the past 150 years, but at what cost to the planet & other living things? We have deforested large parts of the planet, destroyed river suystems & created a toxic legacy of plastics & chemicals in the food-chain 😞

Unfortunately, the NSW landclearing laws were designed to fail biodiversity and the environment. Mission accomplished.

5 hours run time is reasonable for a utility tractor Farmers need to eat and visit the bathroom! For broadacre tractors more runtime is needed. Swappable batteries possible although difficult due to bulk and weight. It all adds up to more cost.

You betcha! Another truck that is ripe for electrification is the cement mixer. They don't travel long distances they need electricity to drive the rotating drum. Super noisy as diesel required even when stationery. Needs lots of torque when fully loaded especially up hills.

To sit in these forests is to understand your irrelevance, to connect to the deep time of this continent. These photos are not the Dorrigo plateau, but the southern-most Gondwana rainforests, in Barrington and Gloucester Tops.

It is curious that Ms Liu’s initial parliamentary declaration of interests (as at the time of her election on 18 May) failed to declare her interest in Australian Access Capital Company Pty Ltd, of which she had been the director and sole shareholder for eleven years.
