Right now, my colleagues from all over the globe travel to SF for our All Hands. I'm not. Have fun my friends!

I'm denied to enter the US by ESTA. My visa application is still "being progressed", with unknown ETA and outcome. :-/

Maybe you should change your license terms to limit usage in the US.

Why are you having the All Hands meeting in the US?

I think primarily because about 50% of the employees are US based. And even based on "the valley", so SF is a relatively cheap option.

I imagine the safer parts of Mexico would be an even cheaper option (if it's long enough) and a lot easier for the other 50%

The allhands starts tomorrow and I've heard nada from the embassy so I've already given up on that. Now I just want a positive visa outcome so I at least can go to future US based events...

the difference from last year is that I know have applied for ESTA again and got a clear "Travel Not Authorized" response...

Maybe it's time to move the all-hands outside the US?

Empathy level over 9000. I am so sorry this happened to you. You should be welcomed with a buffet and a band every time instead of being looked down too. 🇺🇸

iirc visa is only valid for the duration you mention it for - i.e. the duration you are travelling. so even if you get it late, you can't visit in the future. i'm not sure about that's how it works for us here

well there are 2 types - if you are on the longer visa (more than 6 months) then yeah it lasts for lasts. but for a short trip it is different (as i explained earlier)
