It is updated earlier, the relevant change must have been merged very shortly before we deployed the canary build to stable. Just bad timing!

Yeah looks like stable was updated before the fix in Canary was in, should be resolved on the next update

does the weird order of operations in our brains mean that the decisions just don't exist though? what if I don't see "myself" and "my brain" as different entities, am I making decisions?

yeah I don't have any strong thoughts on how to educate the masses on that, this is just my personal philosophy. free will has way too much historical precedent w/ many religious contexts and society *wants* us to feel like it exists in an equitable way.

like as you've said, free will has been a huge factor in historic justice systems. It's this metaphysical imperative that everyone has totally free choice. but agency is limited, we have the *capacity* to choose but capacity can be, and often is, limited by society.
