Ah, glad tonight that my presentation to the @theNASEM Decadal Survey is done! I was asked to report on the status of our constraints on the frequency of Earth-like planets, and I kinda sorta maybe promised we could reduce the uncertainties some more. All use the same planet and stellar parameters, correct for stellar and planet multiplicity, follow-up the candidates to constrain reliability better, treat reliability better!

given that transit method needs the transit to be visible, does this mean that for earth size planet/orbit (where sun is about 0.5 deg size), the chance of seeing the transit is at best about 0.5/180 so about 1/360?
