*sigh* okay: Frontend dev: hard. Backend dev: hard. Language design: hard. Writing docs: hard. HTML/CSS: hard. UI design: hard. Communicating: hard. Leading people: hard. Management: hard. It's all hard. Each one of these is an endless rabbit hole. And it's not a competition.

Today I learned about `font-variant-numeric: tabular-nums;` Basically makes a text value act like monospace so when you’re scaling it up and down via a slider etc. it doesn’t jump around as much.

One of the most useful ways to categorize type systems is: - is it Hindley-Milner based? (Rust, Haskell, OCaml) - or does it support implicit subtyping (TypeScript, Flow, C#)? The first: 1 expression <-> at most 1 type. The second: 1 expression <-> multiple types. A thread 👇

We like to underestimate complexity. But even a Button element can contain an endless number of possible states. Only 3 Variants (Size, Variant, Type) can put the Button in large number of states. Now think about components with a large number of props.

We focus a lot on (judging) the technical knowledge of software engineers. A bigger problem for UI engineering is ignorance about accessibility, design, HCI, anthropology, philosophy, psychology, physiology, perception, politics, etc. Do we even know *what* to create?

I really like the way YouTube handles fullscreen--it fullscreens the video, but you can still scroll and continue surfing. I've never seen this before. It's so novel to me that I was very confused at first.
