This would be like Netflix asking an additional $30 to be able to watch The Devil All the Time

Remember when Disney+ were promoting the low low price of $59.99 for a year of Disney+? Well pay half a year’s subscription for one movie, you didn’t think you could trust us did you?

Does that stick for The King’s Man or Death on the Nile? Or Free Guy? Searchlight is being really fucked over as well - their last release I know of is Wendy which hasn’t come out over here

Disney is willing to let films go from cinemas - The Woman in the Window in talks with Netflix is testament to that. But this isn’t The Woman in the Window. And it begs the question - why would Disney let those go and not The New Mutants as some have been asking for?

And unlike Trolls and Universal/AMC, Disney are pulling a Netflix. You can’t watch the film on iTunes or Amazon or your VOD provider of choice. You can’t support the virtual cinema of your local arthouse with a cut of the profits. Accept the Disney+ ecosystem, or perish

If the Disney parks were open, I don’t think Disney would do this. Maybe Trolls: World Tour and Universal/AMC had an impact, but this for many territories VOD will be the only option. I don’t care about the film, but the cinematography and scale seems designed for the big screen

Will there be the same crossover spending for the marketing machine of merchandise (are there any Disney Stores actually open?), or the planned 4K UHD of the 1998 film? (But clearly The Mandalorian merchandise IS profitable)

Familes, friends, Disney stans might pay the $30 right away. But what about lost revenue from a larger family/friend group watching on one TV? People who are interested weeks after release or go to the cinema alone? Will it have the same staying power, not immediate gratification

If pushed back the release of further, they would be haemorrhaging money. If Disney doesn’t release something new soon, they’re haemorrhaging money. But how many millions are they losing from not releasing to wide, global cinemas?

Releasing a female led film by a female director to cinemas? Never!

I can't imagine they would do a simultaneous release here, chains hate that here and might well shut them out

My impression from some of these message boards is that if you don't pay the seller might not refund you the cost of the item?

I thought I would save money by going through Amazon and not just eBay, actually I'm just wasting it. Should have cancelled the order in the first place

Got hit by a customs charge from an order and I really don't want to pay it, if I don't does it just go away or is that terrible reasoning

nah you misunderstand, if Disney try to do their US release model here either cinemas will tell them to fuck off, or they'll bow to Disney's demands not gonna watch it anyway, but could be epoch shifting
