Don't like Discovery? That's okay. You have hundreds of other episodes and a dozen movies to check out. Love Disco but haven't watched the other shows? Give 'em a chance. There's a lot of good content there. Except for "Threshold." Fuck that episode :) 🖖See ya!

It's so bad that I have had to cancel watching almost every "fan" channel on YouTube, severely limiting what I can listen to while I work. Fan accounts now have to prove how devoted they are by shredding everything to bits. It's on a pay service, folks. You don't have to watch.

As for me, I LOVE Discovery, just like I do the other shows. My favorite is still DS9, followed closely behind by TNG. Discovery will probably move into third in the near future, and I'm currently chomping at the bit for my first trailer.

If it's not for you, that's fine. But it's now one of the top streaming shows in the world (Source: ). Reports of the show having no viewers by certain YouTube channels have been greatly exaggerated.

Even the Kelvin Timeline movies were made with odes to the original series while rebooting and attempting to carve out their own niche. And we remember how well certain segments of the fanbase treated those films. More than any other group of fans, Trekkies really hate change.

Star Trek: Discovery is the first (prime timeline) Trek series that does not make an attempt to cater to the older generations of viewers. This is Trek for people that view their shows on streaming platforms. It's geared for a world that loves Game of Thrones and Stranger Things.

THREAD: Why do I love ? As a writer and storyteller, I love seeing franchises take chances. Every Trek spinoff from TNG to ENT was designed to please fans of TOS. Nothing wrong with that, but it only left so much wiggle room for telling new stories.

I used to like Serenity, but after rewatching it I've decided his writing style just isn't for me.

This is the argument why I'm against Joss Whedon adapting.....anything. Camp camp camp camp camp. Ugh. Most Marvel characters are products of the 60's and can roll (IMHO) with a more camp/humor. Most major DC characters come from the 30's and 40's.

Yup. Everyone is racing to MCU-ify their properties before they stop to think whether or not that style and aesthetic will work with the characters they have.

Want to know how to cut costs and provide entertaining content? Bring in someone from the BBC. They can make a fantastic show for about $12 an episode.

Flash Gordon has a better chance of success than the upcoming He-Man - especially when they said they're going for a GOTG vibe. He-Man should be LOTR meet's Battlestar Galactica or Star Wars. Flash Gordon can be campy and get away with it.

It would be nice if Millennials could reinvest with the sudden freedom from loans. Of course, most of them have no money in the first place, so god knows what they would invest in.

I dunno. The stock market has a way of reacting to a fly like it's a Pterodactyl. Even if it did, those in favor would believe the ends justify the means, as people on both sides of the aisle do with everything nowadays.
