List of books people said that only they've read, or that everyone except them has read:

I described decentralization to my Grandma and she said, "That makes sense, why would you put all your eggs in one basket?"

Isolation and quarantine were more effective for SARS because people who were infectious had symptoms.

It can't both be true that 1. Containment doesn't work, 2. It won't come here

What confuses me, is if travel restrictions don't work and we won't do them, then it's bound to hit here so why are we not preparing with maximum intensity? Most people I talk to think it will stay in China, somehow. That suggests containment works.

It says they delay the onset, and don't work to prevent it because people still get through. Clearly we're past prevention but buying time is helpful if we use it to prepare.

When we talk about alternatives to centralized social networks & media we often get confused by the options. lays out Decentralized Social Networks: comparing federated and peer-to-peer protocols

I read zero to one and will read any other popular book in SV, because I like to know what people are thinking and what the accepted wisdom is, but it's in order to fit in, not to think differently.

I think convergence and divergence of thought is valuable, contrarianism as groupthink is overrated though :)

The irony of everyone reading the same book about avoiding groupthink... 😂

Zero to One is very pro-monopoly. Much of the cryptocurrency space is not.

How different your thoughts are is based on how different your inputs are, so this question is one measure of how much non-overlap there is with your peers. I'm definitely compiling a list from obscure book responses though, so once you share we may start to converge. :)
