I know there are good psychiatrists but damn if it doesn't feel like a needle in a haystack. I have deep mistrust of the field due to ppl like this. BTW, disability does NOT pay the bills. A lot of disabled ppl try desperately to work but workplaces refuse to accommodate us!

By the 1920s clinical studies showed masks reduced surgical site infections. It was accepted that all in the surgical team should wear masks. Here an all-masked team works in the fancifully decorated operating room painted by artist Gisella Loeffler (c. 1932). 3/

Our theme for today's is ! We're getting used to masks in the age of , but health care professionals have long been mask-wearers for the protection of the sick and vulnerable, like these nurses with a patient c. 1975. 🧵

So true. I'm hyperaware of how fast you can lose your health. How quickly you can have it a stripped away. The financial cost. The reality for me is even if I'm *exposed* I risk death bc the current rules won't allow me at the infusion center at that point

THIS so much sums up how I feel about this virus My classmates and friends get to *wonder* what it’s like to be severely sick - I know They get to *wonder* if their body will let them down - I know They get to be naive to the fact it *might* bankrupt them - I know It’s my reality

Trump’s NH rally tomorrow is canceled because of weather. So they will cancel events for bad weather but not a spiking pandemic that’s already killed more than 133-thousand Americans and is clearly out of control right now?

I have goals. I have no motivation. LOL. It's complicated. My motivation is very much external.

At the same time, EVERY single time I've lost any animal I've dealt with horrible guilt. Doesn't matter that I've done absolutely everything. If vets tell me it's hopeless. 100% of the time it kills me. I guess that's why this limbo period when I'm ok is so strange. 😕

There's this weird thing when you've dealt with SO many really horrible situations where you become kinda numb. You do all you can & wait...& while waiting you're just...fine? Eat, watch TV, whatever. I feel guilty I'm not more upset right now, but I've done all that can be done

I can't tell if she's cognitively impaired at the moment or being a ham. Didn't respond when I offered a dog treat (worrisome) sat to eat some bacon and she perked up AND ate it....hmmm...

You see a person in the park pacing & shaking their hands. They are upset & hitting their leg. You approach but they scream (not words) What do you do? What do you think is happening? (I assume most will say call the cops/drug addict/mentally ill) when Autistic meltdown is likely

There is a car accident. You can only save one person. There's an elderly driver who seems unhurt except for a broken leg or a child who has a traumatic amputation and is unconscious. Horribly contrived & a better question could be crafted, but exposes ageism
