(A) No, many people currently praising him didn't do that.
(B) In 2012, Romney pandered to the segment of the GOP that eventually gave us Trump. That engendered a lot of resentment towards him. But in the Trump era, he's acquitted himself very nicely and become his father's son.

Yes, Romney has advantages some GOP Senators lack. But Alexander is retiring, 80, also rich & wouldn't even vote for witnesses, per @TimAlberta b/c his golfing buddies might be mad or whatever. Romney IS complicating his own political situation. 1) twitter.com/ABC/status/122…

It really is amazing. I didn't realize how demoralized I had become until I saw it.

I've become so accustomed to seeing politicians act on craven, self-interested motives that it's a true breath of fresh air seeing one actually stand on principle. History will treat Mitt Romney kindly. twitter.com/MSNBC/status/1…

Romney's career from 1994-2012 was often a study in opportunism, but his conduct in the Trump era has been consistent and admirable (a short thread, 1/x).

Romney’s courage also throws into sharp contrast Bolton’s self-serving behavior. He could have gone to any camera in America to say what he knew. Nobody was stopping him. He simply chose not to.

Indeed - but then absent some vindication of our cognitive faculties, you should just become a global skeptic.

Well that’s adorable! Notice how in the first few seconds the coyote stretches it’s front legs out along the ground? This is a ‘play bow’ and is used by canids to communicate that their intentions are playful, and to put their actions into a friendly context! ❤️ twitter.com/peccarynotpig/…

Considering Iowa is still leaving these decisions up to chance...couldn’t we at least make the candidates do something a bit more entertaining to win? Would love to see Warren and Klobuchar go head to head on a game of rock, paper, scissors 😂 #IowaCaucuses twitter.com/usatodaydc/sta…
