I dropped my phone in the street today and, after a WHOLE LOT of drama and humans and good people and technology we connected with the person who picked it up connected with us, and he was nice and let me tell you, friends, my chief concern was that my Green Card was in there.

Because those who don't have one may not know this, but there's a holographic strip that contains portraits of every president (as well as one containing every state flag) on the back. And my current one was issued in 2016.

so in other words you would have been carrying around a small holographic hell-marker if you had to replace it. thank goodness it was returned!

That's a real sane decision. In that case though, I am glad to have retained my one with the last actual presidential president to president before they decided to stop bothering counting what was a president or not on a card.

My Beloved Mother was once stopped coming back into the U.S. from Canada without her Green Card. She discovered the Customs people have a LOT of guns. Shortly thereafter she started looking at applying for citizenship ...
