To me it feels like quantity not quality. I'll stick with the show though, see where it goes.

I think there's just so many issues being raised, he can't go too deep on any of them. He's also written a drama coming out this year about the AIDS crisis, which should be more focused.

I did like the scene showing them completely accepting a transgender daughter, but disgusted by a transhuman one. Shows eventually everything gets replaced by something else in our moral outrage :)

Gets turned on its head. Also what you see as complex about Celeste. Seems genetic grumpy yet loveable Mum who pop up a lot in his work.

I feel at the moment they are caricatures acting out what RTD feels the appropriate way to react to various modern issue eg climate change, trans / gay relationships, 'curing' disability, refugees etc. Viv is held up as the baddie, how not to react. I am interested to see if it

I do hope the series gets a bit more subtle. At the moment I find the characters are quite one dimensional stereotypes. I think it might be starting to get more complex with Edith's turning to support MP Viv, so let's see. I generally like RTDs stuff.

Haven't said I think they don't need it? I'm saying I thought the couple were completely stupid given the situation they were in, and Russell TD didn't show well why the guy needed asylum anyway.

And then when he was deported, it looked like he just had to stay round someone's house and couldn't be overly openly gay. I don't think Russell T D has made the characters all that easy to feel for.

He was in a much better position than most refugees as he was living with his boyfriend and being supported by him. The boyfriend made it sound like he was just working cos he was bored. Also, anyone with any sense wouldn't casually chat about their refugee bf breaking the law.

The guy was silly for working illegally though. It wasn't clear why he was doing it.

It's even harder to buy class when you've lost all your cash being sued.

Maybe the previous figures included a temporary audience after you were in the press for helping the man in Portsmouth?

What's needed is housing to stop being a product again, but Right to Buy ruined council housing and there doesn't seem an easy way back.

From what I know, the only govt that's done anything to address this is Cameron's, with increase in stamp duty and tax on landlords. Which hasn't acheived a lot. You can't expect individuals to sell something much lower than the going rate, unfortunately.

Hard to tell the mortgage by the time it's been owned. Somewhere might have been bought in the 90s for low value but remortgaged more recently to pay for a home purchase or BTL property at market rate. This isn't an oh poor landlords post just - it is systemic as the woman said.

If the landlord has paid recent market prices they'll probably be paying a mortgage which requires market rent. The young woman acknowledged and said the problem is systemic, then it just went on to lightbulbs.

If someone living in a rental property needs help with changing a lightbulb or turning something on etc, she should help with this. It's part of what they are paying for. I feel sorry for her tenants!
