Not quite water-on-Mars, but still hugely important to have a direct measurement and would have enhanced the headline

18.6- and 4.4-year lunar cycles will coincide between 2021 and 2023 to create very high tides

By any standards this morning’s climate event was rather strange. No questions, no answers on key points, no mention publicly of the sacking of Claire O’Neill. Many experts here left bemused and not a little worried about

What a world we live in! There are curves like this for every thing it’s possible to measure. As a scientist, it’s a very sad state of affairs.

Tomorrow the UK jumps off the orange line and on to the bottom grey line for research spending. Incredible

Our main aim was to avoid clashing with school holidays, but we couldn’t squeeze around the Edinburgh meets as there are too many 🙁 We (and the 🐐) of course would like to see you in the ⛰district

We're putting the spotlight on today on the BBC. And here's a graphic that illustrates how meltwater from the glacier doesn't make the oceans rise equally everywhere. The way the oceans work means the distribution is uneven.

There is no AMO effect in Antarctica, where the same difference occurs between the same observations and models. So maybe you are wrong?

It will be interesting to see whether its the smb or dynamics components of the projections that need attention.....
