Sure, but at least some of that is on the app developer for not making it clear that there was no way they should bring this to the caucus without more testing and training.
But no disagreement that it's ultimately the party's fault at the end if the day.

UX problems are coding problems. If the customer can't use the system, what have you really built?

This annoys me to no end as well. Most headphones have the cable on the left, so a right-side jack is just wrong.
But being Apple, I guess we should just be glad they have is a headphone jack at all?

Today we’re introducing new rules on synthetic and manipulated media, as well as announcing a new label that will help people find context about the information they see on Twitter. twitter.com/TwitterSafety/…

Not that being standard in Silicon Valley is necessarily a good thing 😛, but in this case I agree with Alex that a public post mortem here is critical. twitter.com/alexstamos/sta…

I, for one, am looking forward to the day Broadway has a continuous protected bike lane from Lee Hill to Table Mesa. #goals

Let's just push for reducing lanes on Broadway, adding more bike and ped infra, etc. The Broadway of today need not be the Broadway of the future.

Between this and Bain Capital, the comic books are really writing themselves.

Lot's of testing and transparency will be needed to build trust and minimize these sorts of occurrences. Paper is hard to beat.

Boulder should bear in mind how hard this is to do right (and how easy it is to mess up) as we pursue our electronic petition signature collecting system. That's not so different from a caucus system (e.g. neither relies on anonymous ballots). Let's not make the same mistakes.

Although the fact that everyone keeps tweeting photos of caucus count sheets with the PINs printed on them doesn't inspire confidence in the phone system either -- which is perhaps why they're not relying on that either at this point. 😛

They apparently have a PIN for verifying via phone where each caucus lead is issued a PIN they enter in the phone system. You could perhaps apply that to email as well, but email is also generally easier to intercept and modify then phone which would subvert the PIN system.

At least we killed the caucus for state-wide roles. So steps in the right direction.

Tabulating results via email would probably be... bad. No way to verify that the sender is who they claim to be.

When your Twitter feed that is supposed to be full of political pundits shit posting about caucus results is instead full of software engineers shit posting about how bad we are at building software, you know you have real problems. 😬😬😬
