I second CodeCombat. My 10 year old lad is going through it quite nicely.

I agree. I have a job on Upwork that's been there for weeks and no-one is picking it up. (It's a django / nginx / weasyprint, SSLcert problem). So having a job board for Django (and related Devops) would be really useful.

It had very humble beginnings. I remember looking at it years ago and dismissing it. But since then they have got a lot more organised.

Also I am about to start a new job that is focusing on Laravel. So I'm learning about that framework atm. Perhaps the right folks at the DSF could look for "inspiration" at some of the things Laravel do re the funding of their operation.

Yes I agree. And I know it is difficult to a Donation past certain types of accountants. Maybe the DSF could offer some sort of paid priority assistance? I'm not sure if that is in the remit of their corp structure or not.

I am soon to release a SaaS product and I am building in a DSF donation into my figures

I just know the huge licensed fees that are paid to Microsoft and cloud providers and it seems silly that the core framework used by a business never gets any bucks thrown its ways

Good point. I like 's take on adding a donation to the DSF as part of the operational budget. I suggested to some hosting companies to include a $2 per month domain as part of the housing fee but as far as I know, no company has set this up.

This might be out of place but I think of all the large companies using Django making heaps of money and very little gets donated to the DSF. It would be good to change this culture.

Hey - what is the best book you've got for intermediate to expert level forms training in Django? All the stuff I can find is very basic "this is how you do a form" - but which of your books is best if I want to get into complex form initialisation and processing?

I'm out of the loop here. Is there a food shortage? Or is it a money shortage?

Knowing the customer demographics comes first. This influences the other choices. Start with who is consuming your product.

For me, what comes first is knowing the customer demographics.
