And this sits within our wider regional transport plan including rebuilding Coventry station and the rollout of electric buses across the city.

1/2 Pool Meadow in Coventry is getting a makeover and with just around the corner, we thought what better time to welcome visitors than a bus station filled with art and culture. Just another investment linked to this great event.

This Black History Month I visited for their Black Artists for Black History Exhibition. They've put on a truly superb exhibition highlighting black history and the hopes and challenges faced today. It's so good I've been twice!

These are incredibly tough times for businesses across the West Mids, but there are still some success stories. 15 years ago Jason Ashby invested £299 in a website, and now today is a huge online retailer, creating new jobs for local people at their Coventry base.

It's incredible that this brownfield site will become the home of cutting edge technology. We'll see thousands of new high-quality jobs being created and much-needed investment coming to our region. A huge vote of confidence in the WM.

As we get on with building the Wednesbury to Brierley Hill Metro extension as part of my West Mids transport plan, we’ve had to remove track from the old South Staffordshire railway line. Thankfully we’ve been able to donate the track to 🚂 🚂

A great afternoon spent with earlier this week, visiting local businesses in Aston & Lozells. I enjoyed meeting Gloria who has one of the oldest hair salons on Lozell's High Street opening in the '70s as well as a laundrette.

FROM DUDLEY TO THE WORLD ✈️ has been operating in Pensnett for the past 215 years creating tiles and bricks that are shipped worldwide. Wonderful to see this West Mids business continuing to thrive and invest for the future despite Covid.

IT'S COMING DOWN 💥 After years the blight that is Bull Street Car Park is finally coming down & soon we'll see new homes going up. I'm pleased we were able to put £4mil on the table to ensure this demolition went ahead so we can drive forward the regeneration of West Bromwich.

Critically important BAME roundtable this afternoon as we work to address the impact of Covid on our ethnic communities. Lots of research has been done and we will publish our report and actions as soon as possible. Thank you to those who took part today.

✅ Modified job support scheme with reduced employer contributions ✅ Monthly grants up to £2,100 for hospitality venues Delighted to see the Chancellor listen and act so decisively to support hospitality in the West Mids, as I and others have been calling for. Take a look👇🏻

I’ll be on shortly after 8am with discussing the need for support for businesses in Tier Two areas. 6/7 of the urban West Mids is in T2 and the hospitality sector is struggling. Hopeful the Chancellor will address this after lots of lobbying.

As I highlighted to the Chancellor, Tier Two without financial support is so damaging for hospitality businesses. With 6/7 of the WMCA in T2, this couldn’t be more urgent. The mood music is encouraging, but I will keep pressing to ensure the West Mids gets the support it needs.

2/2 Currently, there's no extra financial support available for our hospitality sector in Tier Two which cannot possibly be right. I will continue to press Govt on this & I'm confident we will get a breakthrough soon.

1/2 I'm disappointed to see Coventry joining the majority of the WM in Tier 2, but with cases rising over the last few weeks it is clear the city needs to move to stricter restrictions. However as I've said before, Tier 2 restrictions do present a serious economic challenge.
