Dr. King’s fight is about understanding we are all equal and saying that we will always fight for that beautiful premise. He understood that a beloved community was a diverse community of equal people, of equal stature, that deserved and required equal dignity.

안녕하세요 Twitter에 오신 것을 환영합니다! (I hope I said that right!). On Martin Luther King Day, hearing your words about President Obama has brought a great lightness in my heart that is so needed. Thank you! I look forward to more tweets!

"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly." —Martin Luther King, Jr.

24 hrs left. Just 41 senators needed. RT if you want your senator to stop FBI, NSA, and *all* presidents' warrantless spying powers over Americans.

Today, Dr. King’s legacy is a guiding light. As we push and pull for a more just and more equal society, Dr King’s campaigns against war, against poverty, against racism show us that love is the universal value of a society at peace with itself.

If Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was preaching today, he would be speaking the idea that we are one people, one family, one house—the American house and the world house—that we must learn to live together as brothers and sisters, if not we will perish as fools.

The anniversary of the devastating earthquake 8 years ago is a day to remember the tragedy, honor the resilient people of Haiti, & affirm America’s commitment to helping our neighbors. Instead, we‘re subjected to Trump’s ignorant, racist views of anyone who doesn’t look like him.

My colleagues and I are calling on the Trump Administration to reject the Department of Justice’s request to include a citizenship question on the 2020 census. This would hinder a full and accurate count of the U.S. population.

Today marks 100 days since Congress let the Children’s Health Insurance Program expire. Let me say that again: health care for 9 million children has hung in the balance for 100 days. We must do better than this.

Imagine if we took back OUR power from this disgraceful man. Imagine if WE decided what was important, rather than dancing to Trump’s tune. Imagine if a tweet were just a tweet (or evidence in a criminal case), rather than the dictator of our reality.

Using children who grew up in this country as a bargaining chip to pay for an unrealistic border wall is shameful.
