Here's an interesting look at the other China tech verticals that are seeing a spike in usage in light of the epidemic: gaming, at-home fitness, e-commerce, etc.

On the business side, the years-long battle over China workplace collaboration software means that employees have access to tons of free remote working software:

There are features for
- free online medical consultation
- an epidemic FAQ chat bot
- a doctor bot if you are experiencing symptoms
- a quiz to educate you on best practices for avoiding infection, etc. pic.twitter.com/VTJAx2Vmfm

Universal adoption of WeChat means everyone is familiar using the software, so there's little education barrier in an emergency like this.
The amount of data-sharing is likely reassuring for people not used to this much transparency from their government. pic.twitter.com/fxO7KXSks6

The Health app had a little red dot this morning, letting me know there were updates
I didn't download the Health app.
It's one of several default mini-programs in WeChat Wallet. Basically everyone in China has WeChat, so everyone has the Health app. pic.twitter.com/44fopXHPaL

China tech's response to #nCoV continues to be fascinating. (thread)
After years of developing online-to-offline services, it's amazing how much software is available to help manage an epidemic.

Returning from Spring Festival we're prohibited from accessing our Beijing office today
All companies must report employees' recent travel history to building mgmt
We're also required to disinfect our office, but disinfectants (and face masks) are impossible to come by #nCoV

Interesting to see how workplace apps in China respond to the corona virus
#WeChat Work is touting its remote work features and, like rivals Alibaba DingTalk and Bytedance Lark, released app updates to help companies track epidemic exposure as employees return from holiday #nCoV twitter.com/grata_co/statu…

You can't possibly believe that a sincere concern for corruption is what motivated Trump's behavior.
You're a god damn Senator. Please stop regurgitating talking points and give this trial it's due seriousness.

So stop grandstanding and do your job:
Conduct a proper trial.
Call the witnesses.
Get the facts.
Then put country over party and vote with your conscience.
Sincerely,
A constituent

Very few companies would give so much equity to employees that they would have any influence. Also relevant are class of shares, use of restricted stock units, and whether shares have voting rights.
For private companies, rare that many decisions would require shareholder vote.

You are right; an important distinction.
Different cases, but I am suspicious of any company that gives so freely of its own equity. At some point you have to wonder if, internally, they place a different value on their own stock than the public.
