yes imo as team lead you do 1on1s once a month
but you try to keep project discussions out of it or just use them as discussion starter or possibility to let people mention problems they would mention otherwise
main focus should be the other person and their state

Why do you think people stay longer in a remote setup?
I experience this as well at PSPDFKit, but assumed it's because of culture + our technical challenges, not because we're a remote team.

As someone who leads a large "hybrid" (~500 people in offices, ~1,000 "remote"), I'd say it works quite well too and becomes pretty logical with scale: you will have locations with higher density of team members, and for many of them it's quite desirable to be in an office.

Absolutely doable. You are definitely one of the strong proof cases. Needs strong team awareness for it. By default i just wouldnt recommend it
