it cannot be overstated what john lewis & his generation accomplished. the civil rights movement toppled Jim Crow segregation and authoritarianism, expanded & strengthened democracy across the country, & inspired movements for rights and liberation both here & around the world.

My favorite thing about John Lewis is that at ComicCon, he cosplayed as his younger self, wearing the same coat and backpack he wore at the March on Selma and led kids in a little march around the convention. 🖤

It is patently obscene that the minimum wage is still $7.25 and has not risen with inflation in the past 30 years, when all basic living costs have far outstripped inflation. An inflation-adjusted minimum wage would be $18.67/hour 🙃🙃🙃
