A list of the teen-sex movies that I grew up on in the late 1970s/ 1980s. Keep in mind: Every one of these was considered a *comedy.* Grease: Lyrics of "Summer Lovin'" about trying to get past a girl's resistance ("Did she put up a fight?") while girl interprets it as romance

Getting it On: Two teenage boys hatch a plan to see naked girls by, uh, PUTTING VIDEO CAMERAS IN THEIR BEDROOMS. Literally, that is the plot. Oh wait: Wacky hijinks ensue!

Porky's, Porky's 2, I don't know how many of these there were: High-school boys peep on their female classmates in the shower, among other things. Here's the poster.

School Spirit: A high-school kid is murdered and comes back as a horny ghost who, because he's a ghost and all, can spend his time hanging around the girls' showers. Voyeurism was a REALLY big theme in these movies.

Animal House: Hoo boy, where to start. There's peeping. There's a frat boy whose date passes out and he must decide whether or not to rape her snoozing body, with help from a shoulder-angel and a shoulder-devil.

Revenge of the Nerds: HOOOOO BOY. Okay, there's a panty raid where a camera is planted in a sorority house and the nerd fraternity literally have a live feed of naked girls on their television. But wait! there's more.

The uplifting ending involves key nerd Robert Carradine putting on a Darth Vader costume and passing himself off as a sorority girl's boyfriend. When he reveals himself afterward, she is INTO IT because the sex was so good.

The Last American Virgin. A virgin is schooled in how to treat girls like objects by two of his friends. He doesn't want to treat girls like objects, and falls in love with a girl that one of his asshole friends gets pregnant. I have no idea why this was a comedy. It was DARK.

Zapped: A nerd has a freak accident and subsequently develops telekinesis, which he uses to expose and humiliate the hot girls in school.

Fraternity Vacation: rich nerd invites smooth dudes to his family's beach house, where they compete to see who can score with a hot girl. No info on whether the girl *wants* to score with any of them, because who cares?

I honestly don't remember what Screw Balls was about, but IMDB calls it "a frolicking youth comedy about zany high school students set in the 1960s." Clearly the poster was meant to illustrate this zaniness.

Goin' All the Way: A high-school kid wants to lose his virginity, but his dumb old boring girlfriend won't give it up, so he tries to find a girl who will. I'm not going to keep going, but I assure you there were DOZENS more with variations on these plots.

The only one of these movies I can think of that portrayed sex as something girls actually desired and pursued is Fast Times at Ridgemont High. If you remember another one, please chime in!

Maggie Carey's The To-Do List, which came out in 2013, was the female-lens 80s comedy that I wish had existed in the actual 80s.

I've always wondered why anyone thought that shit was alright. "Did she put up a fight?" That's fucking assault, brother.

Actually, let me amend that: In some of these films, there was a SEXY OLDER LADY whose job was to initiate the young male protagonist into the ways of sex. (Class, Private Tutor, etc.)

Were the older ladies trying to make sure these young men became good lovers? Or were they just there to suggest that what an older lady wants is definitely a kid who doesn't know what the hell he's doing? We don't know, because they were one-dimensional horndogs.

I honestly adored Real Genius because his love interest is a stone cold nerd peer. But she was the outlier for sure.
