Weird/fun prompt—how much marginal problem-solving capacity could you create by making good domestic whiteboards way more viable? Domestic whiteboards are usually either too small or too obtrusive. There's rarely enough unbroken wall space; free-standing boards eat huge sqftage.

this is something i’ve been thinking about — i think i’d find it stressful. we used to have a separate office & will again, but the idea of having my office stuff like, next to my kitchen, bothers me

Yeah. That’s why I think the switchable windows aren’t ultimately a good solution. Some companies market white boards in cabinets, but that kind of wall space is rare.

Add touch capabilities to TV sets, develop whiteboard apps for the result and allow saving screen content. This way you can reuse space already attributed and hide when required?

i once had a client with an office in london by the thames full of whiteboardable glass — that they used — and it was chaotic. white glass whiteboards have diffraction between the clear layer & backing, & clear is unusable

Yeah, glass whiteboards are no good in my experience. Then again, all (cheap) non-glass whiteboards I’ve used had erasability issues. Is there a good whiteboard?
