Then I thought about the fact 45 can vote. But a person with a felony marijuana conviction serving time for it could not. George Zimmerman can vote. Yet the mother imprisoned for trying to get her kids into a better school district cannot.

This is also why whenever the center left has an urge to set up a massive bureaucracy to administer some sort of redistribution with complex means tests it would probably be better to just mail checks. The more opaque a system is, the worse off poor people will be under it
