Best news of the night will be the fact that Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (stage name Tommy Robinson) has only managed to secure 2,171 votes Manchester and won't be selected as an MEP 🙌

100% agree on that sentiment re. the credit. I am now hoping we all take this approach in also addressing & calling out all white panels as well which are a common occurrence in the social investment space based on my own personal experience.

3. Accountability as current systems don't work and just reinforce current power structure. Needs to be shared more and we need to develop ways to be held more accountable to groups we are working with

Some fascinating thoughts on how you bring about systems change. 3 areas worth noting: 1. Leadership needing energy & capacity to deliver on this. Important role here for networks & peer support 2. Culture change needed at orgs transitioning to working in complex systems (1/2)

Key themes in funding, commissioning in complex environments involves: 1. Human approach 2. Learning & adaption using a continuous learning approach (not just a phase in a cycle) 3. Systems where actors in that system co-ordinate & collaborate together

. presenting a great graphic showing 100+ factors leading into obesity while funders are only funding 4 of these factors. Insightful picture of how funders don't understand complexity of social issues which leads to poor funding approaches

Importance of organisations standing up to funders and telling them what their need is and how we should flip the funding model around and get foundations bidding for impact to fund organisations rather then the other way round
